First we custom form fit a duplex mouth tray for both top & bottom teeth. Then apply the ISMILE special whitening gel that is made in a USA dental lab, a special whitening formula gel and other essential ingredients. A patented spectrum blue LED, with precise settings, is positioned between the upper and lower teeth. This formulation forces activation. Carbomide peroxide and oxygen will break into water molecules and free oxygen radicals. The oxygen radicals combined with carbon-based molecules in the stained teeth proceed to make all stains clear. This process will penetrate the tooth enamel but will not damage the enamel. This is referred to as a physical stain removal at the speed of light. A customer may also opt for a more aggressive or effective method of applying the whitening gel directly on the teeth.

Individual results will vary depending on each person’s habits and unique dental makeup. However it is safe to say that the initial result will last the average ISMILE patient up to or more than 1- 4 years. Over time the consumer will notice that their teeth will eventually discolor again for the very same reasons that caused the teeth discoloration in the first place. Those who smoke cigarettes or drink large quantities of dark or acidic beverages such as: coffee, tea, colas, etc. will have to touch up their teeth more often that those who do not. Studies show that over 95% of ISMILE patients experience a considerable level of whitening. The results will depend on the individual characteristics of your teeth. The average person often experiences 2 to 4 shades of improvement during the first session and 4 to 8 shades after the second session.

While the ISMILE teeth whitening gel will have no negative effect on the integrity of fillings or crowns the procedure will remove stains and clean composite dental work.

The ISMILE system uses its proprietary state of the art technologically advanced LED light, carbamide peroxide gel acceleration system. Sensitivity is minimized by using a slightly lower percentage of carbamide peroxide than most dentists’ procedures, as well as a photo-ion accelerant to speed up the whitening process. This shortens the length of the treatment and exposure to the whitening gel.

Small percentage of people may feel a little tingling sensation, white gum line, or sensitivity, all of which are normal and hold no real danger. Typically, this will only last from a couple of hours not to exceed 24 hours.

Avoid eating for 2 hours immediately after treatment. The first 4 days we would recommend avoiding coffee, tea, dark colored sodas, red wines, berries, candy, red sauces, beets, or any foods that have the propensity to stain. Remember if it leaves a tee shirt stained it will stain your teeth.
